Photo Montage #1

Uploading pictures takes forever because the internet connection is rather slow. It has also been difficult to take a lot of photos because my luggage was lost that contained the charger for my camera, which is now powerless.  To top it all off, my computer was stolen several weeks ago.  Against all odds and to satisfy the cries of my 23 followers, here is the first installment of a purely photo blog....

  1. I thought I sent a really long comment but do not see it now...I do not want to be redundant, in case it just did not get through yet...but let me reiterate that thoese photos that show what you are doing and where you just touch my heart...and your smile is miraculous. Seems sending you things might end up "lost", so unless you can let me know how i can try to send you something and what you might want.... all i can send are my words...so here is alittle story of what my life is like...intention to make you laugh...The other day, I was coming out of services..as I volunteer to set up and clean up after services... it was about 9 pm...and I left with the intention, to run to the grocery store for a couple of essentials. Larry was at home, I called him to let him know, asked him if wanted anything, he said maybe some ice cream would be nice...I thought, okay...that is the least i can do for him..so, I go maybe 1/4 mile...come to a red light...stop, wait for the light to turn green...put on my blinker, make a left turn..maybe a little wide..but did not hit a curb or a car or a pedestrian...went maybe another 1/4 of a mile and the flashing lights were on my tail! Man I thought, I should pull over and let the police officer pass.... I pulled over but the police officer did not pass me, he pulled over right behind me...what the heck I thought?... I got my wallet with my driver's license out, zoomed my window down,....and waited for the officer young enough to be my grandchild approach the car with his flashlight aimed at my FACE and his other hand on his holster! His HOLSTER>>>Do you have that image?! I looked at him squintingly but sternly and asked, "Officer? what did I do?" He looked at me from behind his flashlight and very officiously ( is that a word?) said, "Well M'am. you were driving in the break down lane." ( I thought to myself....I was what?! I do not remember that question on my driver's ed test when I was 16 years old :
#47 "True or False: It is a pullover offense if you edge into the breakdown lane when making a wide turn at a traffic light when leaving your synagogue...." True?

So I said, " I was what?" He was now moving that flashlight like one of those airport landing spotlights, all over my car...front seat, back seat "etc, etc etc" ( do you know what famous movie star with a shaven head said that line in a movie with Deborah Kerr?) ....but once again, I digress, you must be waiting for the outcome of this little adventure....

He said something to the effect " You were driving a little erraticaly in the break down lane and I was worried about you... " I said something like, " I just got out of synagogue and I am on my way to the grocery store..( I did not mention anything about the ceremonial wine we drink at the end of the service...because..well, it is literally a thimble full...and it is a religious custom, not a bar drinking game...anyway...... I continued to say to him: "I believe I pulled over when you were flashing your lights at me...do you want to see my license?" He then moved his flashlight away from my face, and said " No m'am, that 's okay...just drive safely now...." and then sauntered back to his patrol car and stopped traffic to let me back out of the breakdown lane we were both in.....OY!

Well, it is good to know I am now at an age when a police officer pulls me over, I am no longer in the ticket administering population...this is the third time in the last 6 months, I have had one of these local police officers pull me over and then walk away like they were afraid they almost ticketed their grandmother.... Oh yes, I went to the grocery store, but forgot to buy Larry the ice cream....

This all really happened...hope you now have a new respect and admiration for Larry, as I arrived home with no ice cream, and he did not look surprised........

Ever so fondly with immeasurable admiration
for what you are doing...shelley and larry
